Professional Biography
I graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Parma in 1996. In the year 2000 I obtained a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering, at the Department of Environmental Hydraulic Engineering and Survey (DIIAR) of the Politecnico di Milano with a thesis entitled 'Numerical modeling and Experimental Verification of Rapidly Vario Mono and Two-dimensional'. Since January 2005 I have been a researcher at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Parma. I deal with various rapidly free surface motions and mixed one and two-dimensional currents. I have frequently carried out laboratory activities for the study of dam-break phenomena on a smooth and rough fixed surface, dry and wet, in the presence of surmountable and non-surmountable obstacles. Recently I contributed to the development of an imaging technique for the acquisition of water depth fields in two-dimensional domains. Lately I have started to deal with Hydroelectric Plants, with particular interest in Mini-Hydro installations.
